Our goal is to bring into your family, another member. That is why we work extra hard at socializing all our British Shorthair cats and kittens. I think most people do not really understand the critical importance of the window of socialization that lasts only from 2 weeks to 7 weeks of age. This quote is from Robert Tabor’s Cat Behavior: A complete guide to understanding how your cat works: “Eileen Karsh established that the window of the sensitive period for habituating kittens to people is from two weeks to seven weeks. Cats handled regularly during this time were prepared, when older, to stay on someone’s lap longer and approach people more readily. Cats that were handled after this period, that is from weaning on wards, behaved no differently from cats that had not been handled at all. …All too often, as young kittens they will not have been handled regularly. Brought into new homes where they are the focus of attention they receive lots of handling, yet it seems this will not socialize them as well as the little time spent each day before weaning.”  We believe this is true, so from the day they are born they are handled and it has paid off. British Shorthair kittens that are a joy the minute they get adjusted to your home. I am not a pressure salesperson for I believe choosing a member of the family is a huge decision and a British Shorthair kitten will not just be a “cat” but a true member of the family. Please remember that you are not the only person inquiring about a particular kitten.

A Deposit is what will hold a kitten for you until he/she is ready to leave and that with the deposit agree to my contract. Deposits are nonrefundable. This has been added for over the years I have people falling in love with a particular kitten and he/she is sold before they have committed to he/she, thus being severely disappointed. My kittens run $2000.00.  All are micro chipped,  neutered/spayed, wormed and started on their basic kitten vaccinations.  The deposit to hold one is $1000.00.  The balance and shipping fee ($450.00 via Delta/American/United) is due before they join the family.  I have added the papal link to the site and venmo for your security (you don’t have to be a member it will take your credit card and you can check out as a guest).    Once a kitten is selected I do try and get you updated pictures every two weeks so you can see how much they change during this time but please remind me!

Once you decide to make a deposit for a kitten I will need:

  • Submit completed contract (located on the website)
  • Full name
  • Mailing address
  • Phone numbers
  • Preferred airport (if shipping is needed)
  • Your PayPal or Venmo contact information
  • Please Send the Deposit: This is the only way to hold your selected kitten.

Then please remind me every 2 weeks and I will get updated pictures! I generally find they go home between 10-14 weeks of age. Great time to bond with the family and you get to enjoy the young kitten phase also!

Shipping in the Continental United States is done via American which is $450.00. (this includes the health papers, crate, bed, flight and trip to the airport) I do all the arrangements you just have to pick him/her up at the airport. Two kittens can travel in the same crate for an extra $50.00 to cover larger crate and extra airline cost. The other options are to drive and pick your kitten up. If you need a crate set up for the trip home with litter pan etc, the cost runs $75.00 and i will have everything ready or Christian’s Flight Nanny Service which is approx 1100.00 to your airport. When shipping times comes please remember that we have to be patient and work around the weather.
